We're excited to announce that we will be holding a Tuts+ community meetup on the 19th of July in New York City! Are you interested in meeting your fellow Tuts+ fans as well as some of the staff who make the sites tick? This is your chance!

Activetuts+ launched in 2009 with the aim of teaching how to build websites, apps, animations, and interfaces in Flash. Much has changed in the industry over the past few years, and Activetuts+ has evolved several times to continue teaching relevant content. As of today, we are going to be drawing Activetuts+ to a close in order to concentrate our focus on better covering several exciting new areas of education. After the break we'll be explaining our thinking behind the decision, what we'll be doing with our archive of content, and our plans for the future.

It's been about 6 months since we launched our much improved New Tuts+ Premium complete with courses and eBooks. In that time we've added 97 hours of video training, 36 eBooks and of course our premium tutorial library has continued to grow and is rapidly apporaching 1000 tutorials, including lots of fantastic Activetuts+ content. Now, for a limited time only, thanks to PayPal we're offering anyone who joins Tuts+ Premium with a yearly membership via the PayPal service, a $50 cash back to their PayPal account. It's a good way to get an even better deal on Tuts+ Premium yearly subscriptions!

Ian Yates of Webdesigntuts+ has posted a great Quick Tip explaining how you can use Dropbox or Google Drive as a simple, automated version control system. It's worth checking out for web app and game developers too, so check it out below.
